Fred J. Rogers

Curator Michael S. Williams discusses the work of Principal Fred J. Rogers during his time at Williston.

A Raleigh native and graduate of Shaw University, Mr. Rogers (1888 - 1974) served as principal at Williston Industrial from 1929 to 1951 and then became head of the Williston College Program. He founded Williston’s B.B. Leonard Hi-Y Club in 1937. The Class of 1946 described him as a "guiding light" through their time at Williston.
